    Join glass artist Lucky Kernan and a group of trans artists of all mediums to discuss and explore “queer mediums.”

    Topics may include:
    What are or are not queer mediums?
    Is glass a queer medium? Why?
    What does it mean to work in a queer medium?
    What other practices or artistic mediums can be queer, or queered?
    And more.

    Queer and trans artists of all kinds are invited to join the roundtable, bring questions of their own, and contribute to the discussion.

    An all day-long celebration of music, art, poetry, vendors and history on Trans Visibility Day, March 31st from 12 pm - 8 pm.

    METAMORPHIC is an all-day art show celebrating all those who identify as Trans. The trans human experience exists in a world that doesn’t understand the courage, beauty, and fire it takes to be yourself. Transgender individuals have been a constant presence throughout history, making leading contributions to art, music, activism, and beauty. Trans artists influence culture and change the world; we are necessary and METAMORPHIC!

    These workshops invite queer and trans adults into spaces of deep intimacy that ground our liberation work in collective somatic healing.

    Signature Body Talks support participants to:

    1. Begin an intuitive dialogue between body and mind and their relationship with creativity and space.

    2. Cultivate healing collaboration between the left-side brain (speech, abstract thinking) and right-side brain (image processing, spatial thinking).

    3. Engage the spiritual and somatic aspects of healing trauma simultaneously.

    4. Practice slow, progressive somatic engagement with the nervous system (titration) through several artistic mediums. 

    5. Reconnect with embodied, ancestral knowledge and wisdom.

    Body Talks are educational spaces. We share ourselves, our creativity, and embodied wisdom as resources for collective mental and somatic liberation.

    Chrysalis Magazine is hosting a zine-making workshop for trans youth at Gallery 198. The workshop takes place during “ARTxTEXT,” a zine-centered exhibition curated by Elliot Rockart as part of Trans Art Fest.

    The workshop is open to participants ages 13-18, who will be introduced to the vibrant culture of queer zine making, and guided through the process of creating their own! All materials will be provided.

    Body Talks involve slow, progressive, somatic engagement with the nervous system (titration). We build intimacy with ourselves and one another through movement, art making, meditation, music, and self-reiki.

    This Body Talk incorporates aspects of the signature body talk sequence, but this is all about integrating texture play, outdoor sculpture, and somatics. Come ready to write, scavenge the garden for found objects, move, and play in some soil!

    Dress comfortably, to get dirty, and for potential sweat.
